Dead-head Pearl Deep Blue Bellflower and you’ll have beautiful blue flowers from late spring to late summer. The 2-inch wide flowers sit above the mound of deep green foliage and leaves. At full growth Pearl Deep Blue is 6 to 8 inches tall, with a mature spread of 12 to 24 inches. The compact shape makes it perfect for edging, rock gardens, the front of borders or containers. Bee Balm Grand Parade produces playful lavender flowers in in mid- to late-summer. It grows from 13 to 16 inches tall with a mature spread of 16 to 20 inches. Grand Parade prefers moist soil and tolerates the moisture well being mildew resistant. As with all monarda perennials it attracts bees, hummingbirds and butterflies. Plant it in masses near your backyard hummingbird feeders and watch the crowd that appears for lunch. You’ll enjoy the light mint fragrance of the shiny, dark green foliage – but the deer won’t. Basket of Gold – yellow, spring-blooming perennial

Basket of Gold is a short yellow perennial that loves the sun. You’ll usually see Basket of Gold in a rock garden or in the front of a sunny perennial border. It only grows 7 to 9 inches tall and forms a low bushy mound of grey green leaves. In the early spring those leaves will be covered in bright yellow flowers for several weeks. Once the blooms half faded, prune the plants to about half their size. But don’t prune this evergreen in the fall. It is drought tolerant.
